Free Fall

With every passing moment I stop and think
What if we could turn the hands of time?
What would we wish never happened?
Would we abuse it or utilize it?
Would we freeze moments that we knew we would never have again?
Would we see faces that death has made fade away?
Take words back that we knew destroyed hopes?
Said the words we wished we had the nerve to say?
Gave a little more?
Did a little more?

At the end of it all,
We cannot change the hands of time
We cannot pause, rewind or stop
Our lives are on a never ending play
A free fall of some sort
So say what you need to say
Give what you want to give
Love, live and let go
That’s all there really is

Memories

Splashes of water on our faces,
your resounding laughter...
You made me love you,
and then you left me alone on this stage called life,
with nothing but memories and this damn ring...

Am me everyday, who you is?

Japanese candles, doesn’t change the fact that when you lose someone, there’s a hole in your heart which can’t be filled, that represents where the person used to be, and no prayer or candle can change that. No matter how hard we try,  we are here and the person is gone, we are reminded of the inevitability of time and death, so  we hold on to the memories we shared with that person, the gift that we had a chance to meet an incredible person, a fit soldier, a loyal friend, my papilo, a light that can never be put out RIP Bernard Makinwa

 SLOW DANCE

Have you ever watched kids on a merry-go-round, or listened to the rain slapping on the ground?
Ever followed a butterfly's erratic flight, or gazed at the sun into the fading night?
You better slow down, don't dance so fast, Time is short, the music won't last.

Do you run through each day on the fly, when they ask "How are you?", do you hear the reply?
When the day is done, do you lie in your bed, with the next hundred chores running through your head?
You better slow down, don't dance so fast, time is short, the music won't last.

Ever told your child, we'll do it tomorrow, and in your haste, not see his sorrow?
Ever lost touch, let a friendship die, 'Coz you never had time to call and say 'Hi'?
You better slow down, don't dance so fast, Time is short, the music won't last.

When you run so fast to get somewhere, you miss half the fun of getting there.
When you worry and hurry through your day, it's like an unopened gift thrown away.
Life is not a race, do take it slower, hear its music before the song is over.

Sweet Summer

A chance to wear a bikini around,
to have lots and lots of ice lollies
to run on the streets,
laugh and scream out loud
and say
pardonnez-moi que je suis un touriste

This post was written for the Trifecta challenge asking for 33 words describing summer.

And it all falls down

In the end when your stack of cards come tumbling down all you can do is watch.
Watch it fall into a million pieces and watch your heart fall with it, even though there were signs which you completely ignored, nothing could have prepared you for the actual fall, that unadulterated shock which turns into anger in so many different shades; that feeling that you just cant let go, you don't want to let go.
So we strive, we fight the tears, we play the game of pretense, but in the end we are just playing ourselves, we are our own last card, and sooner or later, we will fall.
